Philips Norelco 9000 Prestige Review
The Philips Norelco 9000 Prestige Electric Shaver is one of the most respected electric razors available.
This could well be our top choice!
This top-tier product from Philips rarely receives less than 5-star reviews and provides its users with a precision tool for close shaving.
We consider this to be one of the best money can buy if you have a thick beard or are after a precision close cut. Enjoy our review below.
Philips Norelco 9000 Prestige Electric Shaver Review
In this review, we’re going to analyze why many consumers and experts regard this as one of the top choices on the market.
We love it. We dare say as electric shavers go, it’s unbelievable. With precision NanoTech blades, ‘SkinComfort’ rings and a beautiful stainless steel finish it’s an honor to hold it.
With this shaver, you get precision shaving from a product that glides over your skin.
Men, this is the pinnacle and arguably the top razor you can buy.
Who Are Philips?
Philips is a Dutch technology company, originating from the heart of Amsterdam. Working in all areas of tech, they’re often the innovators in men’s products and are one of the most trusted brands in the world.
If you’re looking for the very best, then this company won’t let you down.
An Incredibly Close Shave
Philips has included what they call ‘NanoTech’ precision blades on this electric shaver. With thousands of nanoparticles on each blade, you get a shave that is as close as we’ve ever seen without resulting in any skin irritation.
They have clearly used their extensive experience in the market here, to design the perfect blade - an upgrade on their previous models.
You’ll be hard pressed to find an electric shaver that is as comfortable as the Philips Norelco 9000 Prestige, given the cut. The electric razor has a protective coating so that the head glides over your skin.
We know what it’s like to get friction burns even with the expensive models, but with this, it’s not even possible.
Wet and Dry Shaving
It is even more comfortable when used with foam. As expected it works with ease in the shower.
In our opinion though, the rotary head design is so slick that even with dry use it’s supremely comfortable to use.
Easy to Clean
It has a fairly standard cleaning method. You just need to pop off the head and rinse it with water. Sadly, unlike other high-end products, there is no automatic cleaning charger, but it doesn’t take much to clean away the debris inside.
Unlike some cheaper shavers, the head doesn’t fall apart once removed.
Philips has designed the 9000 Prestige with a head that bends and moves so that you can reach all the tricky angles of your face.
How many times have you struggled to reach that area behind your jaw? The 9000 Prestige makes shaving a breeze.
The company calls this their “Personal Comfort Settings,” but we’re not so sure it affects comfort so much. With three different speeds, you’ll notice a change in the tonality of the electric razor but little else.
It’s nice to be able to slow it down, but keeping it set to fast is never a problem.
Shaving is not just about a baby face, and Philips haven’t forgotten that. They’ve included a click-on skin-friendly SmartClick precision trimmer for styling.
I tried it out on my sideburns and can tell you that a sharp look is easy to gain with the Norelco 9000.
The model we tested in our Philips Norelco 9000 Prestige review had a standard cord system, but there are models with a QI charging pad. However, those require a painfully long 3-hour charging time.
Thankfully, the corded charger will reach 100% in one hour and achieve a ‘quick charge’ in just 5 minutes. You can’t do that with the QI charging pad, which in our opinion means it is useless. A Philips Norelco 9000 Prestige with a cord charger is more than good enough.
Philips claims that the battery life on this shaver is one hour, but from our tests, it is more like 50 minutes. That isn’t ideal, but it’s more than enough. The battery status is, however, the best we’ve ever seen.
The display will show you exactly how much percentage you have remaining and beep when it gets low. Nice stuff.
Value for Money
The Philips Norelco 9000 Prestige’s price is undoubtedly on the high-end, but that’s because it’s a state-of-the-art product and truly one of the very best. You get a shaver that will stand the test of time and the test of any beard.
In our opinion, spending an extra $100 on this compared to a cheaper shaver is worth it. You’re going to experience flawless shaving and an incredibly comfortable cut for years. It’s not a stretch to say this would be a great investment for your beard.
If you don’t believe our praise, then the proof is in the public reviews.
On Amazon, there is no electric shaver with a better rating. It’s never received less than 4-stars and consumers are all in agreement that this is a game changer.
They praise how great it is for sensitive skin, beard trimming and have zero regrets.
The Philips Norelco 9000 Prestige is the best we’ve ever reviewed. It’s as simple as that.
We’ve never seen a rotary head system like it and Philips have designed an electric shaver that will be perfect for beard trimming, styling and smooth, close cuts. Exceptional.
Premium quality blades, modern features and a flexible head mean we give this 5/5. Philips hasn’t held back by including their latest technologies to bring consumers an exceptional product.
It’s probably the most comfortable electric razor we’ve ever reviewed, given the closeness of the shave. Sensitive skin users won’t have a problem, with it’s gliding head technology. Outstanding.
Rotary shavers often lack precision and closeness of their shave. But with this, you get something special. The head adjusts to your face’s shape and the click on trimmer is excellent for beard trimming and styling.
We’ve seen better-charging systems for the price, but it’s not bad. With the corded option, you’ll get quick charging. The wireless option looks nice but in our opinion, it’s a gimmick.
50 minutes to one hour isn’t bad but not perfect. But the percentage display makes up for it.
You’ll know exactly when it needs charging and you'll never suffer that annoying moment when it suddenly turns off, without a prior warning.
